New iphone battery, etcNew York 2023 - 2023. 11. 16. 05:49
This is a prayer that AA(Alcoholics Anonymous) members recite in AA meetings. It really rings true to me.
I think I do love my job. I am writing this because yesterday I had to stop working in the middle of my shift due to loud drill noise from contruction work in my apartment building and I got MAD. During the unexpected extra free time, I went to Apple store and got my iphone X battery replaced but the whole day I felt something was missing. My iphone is 4 years old and battery capacity was 78% so I decided to get a new battery that costs $89+tax, which turns out to be a great idea. The genius bar at Apple store isn't genius(actually very inefficient -- I had to visit them twice and wait for 1.5 hours while they changed the battery. I am going to give Apple feedback about it.) but now my phone is like a new one! The battery doesn't drain fast any more so I don't have to charge it often! I am planning to use this phone at least 3 more years.
Today, thank god, there was no noise in the building so I was able to complete my shift. One memorable call was with a physician and a Korean male patient(PT). It was PT's annual physical and he had been seeing this same Dr. since 2015 and had gained about 17 LBs over the years. Self-conscious of his overweight he told Dr. he had started going to the gym 2 days before this appointment. Dr, in his 60-70 like my doctor, was so glad and curious about what made him decide to do it. PT said it's all because of the Dr. as he always cared about PT's health and he wanted to show Dr a healthier self. I was already moved by this and then Dr. surprised me more. He asked PT if it's easy to go to the gym and PT answered it was hard because he was lazy. Then Dr. suggested PT write an "intention statement" with how often/how long he will exercise and sign it. And Dr. took a photo of it and uploaded to his chart. Obviously, he believes writing down your intention/goal encourages you to stick with it. He also said "You said you were lazy but I think you don't want to be lazy. Everytime you go to the gym, you are proving yourself that you aren't lazy and it is a small victory." That was moving so much I got choked while interpreting it. I can't believe how lucky I am to be part of this conversation.
