Happy WeekendNew York 2023 - 2025. 11. 4. 11:28

I had a great weekend, which consisted of:
- meeting with a dear friend Dan and her husband and hiking on Staten Island until my legs got tired. (It's very special because it's super hard to find someone who can keep up with me and Max and doesn't get tired easily. Dan even told me her legs weren't sore next day!)
- missing two ferries for total stupidity (we missed the first one because Google overestimated the walking time and the second one because I forgot to check the time while chatting with M! So I had to set an alarm for the 3rd one but then we went to the wrong entrance and almost missed it!) but we had so much fun waiting at the ferry terminal.
- delicious meals with M (Friday-sushi, Saturday-ramen, Sunday-Ethiopian). So lucky he and I share an almost identical taste for food.
- cats doing well. Q's skin problem has gone and his behavior regressed to his kitten's. T's diarrhea is also under control thanks to the duck food I found. For the early morning vomiting issue of both kitties, feeding them late at night seems to be helping with acid reflux. Fingers crossed!!
Now I'm reading this biography about a psychologist who researched on "love", which was a concept completely ignored in the field time. The book "Come as You are" mentioned a very interesting episode of a podcast This American Life https://www.thisamericanlife.org/317/unconditional-love and it lead to this book. The beginning has his quote "Everyone needs a solid foundation of affection" referring to a mother's love for her baby. When I read it, I felt M is my solid foundation of affection that my childhood partially missed.
